Surcharge increases |

(Toronto, May 7, 2004)… Effective
May 10, the airlines will increase the Aviation Fuel Surcharge
by about 30% or more. On the Canada - Europe trade lane,
the surcharge will be increased to CAD$0.26 per kg. Other
trade lanes will be subject to similar increases.
The Aviation Fuel Surcharge is adjusted on the basis of
the logistics carrier's “Fuel Price Index”.
The airlines say the increase is necessary because of the
rising fuel price.
