(Toronto, March 15, 2005)... Airline carriers have announced they are increasing their fuel surcharge, effective March 21, 2005. All major carriers have advised they will apply the next charge level on their fuel index. Air Canada has posted the following rates for cargo between Canada and:
- Canada (Domestic) $0.35 CAD / kg.
- U.S.A. $0.44 CAD / kg.
- Europe €0.35 Euro / kg.
- United Kingdom £0.23 GBP / kg.
Other airlines are expected to post similar rates.
Based on increases assessed earlier this year from NAV Canada, the Navigation Surcharge for both domestic and international shipments has increased from $0.05 to $0.07 CAD / kg., minimum $5.00 CAD. For more information, please call (905) 676-2763, Tony Darmanin, Supervisor - Airfreight Services.
