| 2007 Blanket NAFTA Certificate Reminder |

(Toronto, November 30, 2006)… Your blanket NAFTA Certificates for 2006 are just weeks away from their expiry date (December 31, 2006).
Shipments claiming preferential treatment without a valid NAFTA Certificate are subject to an AMPS (Administrative Monetary Penalty System) transactional penalty of:
1st infraction - $1,000.00
2nd infraction - $5,000.00
3rd infraction - $10,000.00
Subsequent infractions - $25,000.00
To avoid potential penalties, shipments arriving in Canada without a valid NAFTA Certificate will be subject to duty (where applicable) upon import. Remember, a 2006 Blanket Certificate is not valid for 2007 shipments. If you have already forwarded your Certificates to our office, please disregard this notice.
