Toronto International Airport announces reduced cargo landing fees

(Toronto, June 24, 2008)... Air cargo landing fees at Toronto's Pearson International Airport will be cut by 25 percent, effective January 1, 2009.

The cost of landing a Boeing 757 freighter under the new fee structure will be $2,552 compared with $3,402 currently, according to airport authority figures.

This attempt to remain competitive in the global cargo industry, is a welcome sign to shippers faced with increasing freight rates.

The airport handles more than 45 per cent of Canada's air cargo, representing over 500,000 metric tones of cargo, and has the capacity to double its current volumes.
