Disrupt Western European Port Operations |

Dock workers
at Western European ports have scheduled a one-day general
strike, commencing Friday, January 17, 2003 at 0600 hours,
ending Saturday January 18, 2003 at 0600 hours.
The protest is in response to plans by the European Commission
to liberalize port operations.
Ports in Belgium and The Netherlands are expected to see
the most significant disruptions, however all Western European
ports are due to experience some protest activity.
