| Rising tensions
at CN Brampton Intermodal Terminal |
|
(Toronto, September 8, 2003)
CN's
Brampton intermodal facility continues to be plagued by
a growing dispute between truckers and the terminal operators.
Impromptu picket lines set up by truckers outside CN property
have made the situation even worse and activity at the
terminal has come to a complete standstill. Violence
and vandalism have occurred triggering the refusal of most
carriers to enter the terminal.
An emergency meeting of intermodal cartage companies has
been called for today to deal with these issues.
Additional Trade
Alerts will be issued as the situation evolves.
