| Protest blocks
Port of Montreal |
|
(Montreal, December 11,
2003)
Operations at
the Port of Montreal are being disrupted by union members
participating in a province-wide day of protest by some
1600 labour unions in Quebec, campaigning against the
Quebec Government's Bill 31. The trouble spot is
a main highway that is being blocked by about 400 unionized
workers.
No container traffic, import or export, will be moving
on/off Racine Terminal by rail or truck. Short-term delays
are inevitable.
