| CN and CAW
reach agreement |

(Toronto,
March 15, 2004)… CN announced today that
it has reached new tentative collective agreements with
the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW) union. However, CAW shopcraft,
intermodal and clerical members will remain on strike,
pending ratification of new agreements later this week.
CN has also reached a tentative agreement covering owner/operator
truck drivers represented by the CAW. These drivers are
not on strike.
