(Vaughan, September 13, 2005) Canadian Pacific Railway's main trucker, CDI, has gone on strike as of September 12, 2005, demanding higher wages and fuel surcharges. They are presently holding up other carriers at the outgate of CP Vaughan terminal, causing severe delays in the movement of intermodal containers, both domestic and international.
Canadian Pacific (CP) has applied for a court injunction to end the strike. CDI management is calling this an illegal work action, and is also investigating ways to end this dispute.
We will continue to keep you updated on this situation.
