 “Force Majeure” declared at Deltaport/Vancouver

(Deltaport/Vancouver, January 20, 2005)… TSI Terminal Systems Inc., the operator of Deltaport, has declared "Force Majeure" due to an extremely high backlog of import containers.

TSI says “Force Majeure” will continue until rail congestion decreases to a level that allows the terminal to recommence normal vessel and gate operations.

CN maintains that adverse weather conditions have seriously affected their ability and effectiveness to service the port efficiently.  CN is confident the backlog will be cleared soon.

It is likely that certain ships will be unable to berth and unload and port diversion to a US port is a distinct possibility.
