| CN Engineers Threaten Strike Action |

(Toronto, May 16, 2005)… The Teamsters Canada Rail Conference (TCRC), representing CN's locomotive engineers, has issued a strike notice against CN, to commence 12:01 am, Wednesday, May 18, 2005.
CN has advised it will maintain service in the event of a strike and are confident an agreement can be reached without labour disruption.
The Federal Minister of Labour has appointed two mediators from the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service to assist with negotiations.
