  CN operations returning to normal

(Toronto, April 19, 2007)… Rotating strikes by 2,800 CN workers at eight locations in British Columbia and Ontario have been called off and operations are returning to normal after Canadian National Railway lifted its lockout of the striking union employees.  Federal back-to-work legislation prompted CN to call off the lockout.

The workers, represented by the United Transportation Union, have given written assurances that no strikes will be held while negotiations with CN resume under a federal arbitrator.

We will continue to monitor this situation and advise accordingly.  For more information, please call (905) 882-4880 David Lychek, Manager - Ocean & Air Services.
