(Ottawa, December 20, 2007)… Don't forget the Goods and Services Tax (GST) will be reduced by 1 percentage point to 5%, effective January 1, 2008.
The reduced GST rate will apply to the importation of all taxable goods released from Customs on or after January 1, 2008. Shipments released by Customs prior to January 1, 2008, will be assessed GST at the current rate of 6%.
