  Mumbai Ports Re-open

(Toronto, August 13, 2010)… The Indian Navy began escorting vessels in and out of the ports of Mumbai and Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) on Thursday, August 12, after four days of closure due to the collision of two vessels off the coast of Mumbai. The collision resulted in 300 containers being jettisoned from the MSC Chitra, which still pose a navigational hazard.  Salvage operations are continuing, and it is expected it will take a few more days to restore the full functioning of the ports.

We will continue to monitor this situation closely and advise accordingly.
