Business as usual for Air Canada despite strike, back-to-work
legislation coming soon
(Toronto, June 15, 2011) While the strike by Air Canada service and sales staff is having little or no impact, the federal government has announced that it will introduce back-to-work legislation.
The strike, involving 3,800 agents, is Air Canada's first major labor disruption in nearly 13 years. Non-union staff are filling in for the striking agents.
Air Canada is reporting that the strike has not directly impacted their air cargo operations and business is proceeding as usual.
We will continue to monitor this situation and advise accordingly. For more information, please call (905) 882-4880 David Lychek, Manager – Ocean & Air Services.
