Truck carrier protest disrupts Chennai Port, India operations
(Toronto, August 22, 2011)… Import and Export operations came to a halt at Chennai Port in India on Friday, August 19, due to a clash between a port employee and a truck operator. Truck operators have gone on strike in protest of this incident. A backlog of vehicles and container shipments has resulted from this action, which is expected to take a week to clear.
