CN negotiating with conductors to avert strike

The union representing 3000 CN conductors will be in a legal strike position as of 00:01 hours on Tuesday, May 30. The company, however, is confident that it can reach a mutually satisfactory collective agreement without a labour disruption. If a strike takes place, CN would have to stop its Canadian rail operations as it does not have enough non-union personnel to replace the conductors. The U.S. network and the non-rail-terminal operations (Intermodal, Autoport, Transload) would continue with the inventory they would have on hand.
