How to minimize forecasted delays during the 2016 Chinese Lunar New Year

Please note the following dates when the 2016 Chinese Lunar New Year will be celebrated in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan:

China: February 7 – 13
Hong Kong: February 8 – 10
Taiwan: February 6 – 14

It is recommended that your suppliers and associates make booking arrangements for impending shipments as early as possible to avoid delays. In addition, shippers should place their bookings at least 10 days prior to vessel departure time.

Other recommended steps include:

  • make early arrangements on original bills of lading to avoid any storage charges
  • where feasible, arrange express B/Ls or telex release to prevent any stress or late deliveries and storage fees

If you have any questions concerning shipments booked with Universal Logistics and how they may be impacted by the above, please call (905) 882-4880 Debbie McGuire, Manager – Freight Solutions.
