Trump threatens tariffs on Mexico

Toronto, May31, 2019

U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened to impose escalating tariffs on all imports from Mexico to the U.S.. A 5%tariff will take effect on June10, 2019, with the rate increasing the first of each month until October 1, 2019, to a final rateof25%.

The tariffs will be reduced or removed if Mexico takes action to “reduce or eliminate the number of illegal aliens” crossing into the U.S., the White House said in a statement.
