USA Trade War Update – Reciprocal Tariffs paused, China rate increased - Universal Logistics Trade Alerts - April 9, 2025

Toronto, April 9, 2025

US President Donald Trump has paused Reciprocal Tariffs for 90 days and reduced the rate to 10 percent for most countries during this 90-day pause.

I have authorized a 90-day PAUSE, and a substantially lowered Reciprocal Tariff during this period, of 10%.” Trump posted on Truth Social today.

Trump also advised that the 84 percent tariff on China-origin goods, effective today, has now been increased to 125 percent effective immediately.
