CETA receives Royal Assent

The Canada-European Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), a key Canadian trade agreement, may be just weeks away from provisional implementation (possibly July 1, 2017). This means 98% of the Agreement (including duty reductions) will move forward. The final step in the approval process was Royal Assent by Canada’s Parliament, which was given May 16.

Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
