U.S./China trade war heats up

Toronto, May6, 2019

U.S. President Donald Trump is threatening to raise U.S. tariffs on China imports, effective Friday May10. That means China imports currently assessed a 10% tariff would increase to25%. Trump is also threatening to apply a 25%tariff on a widened range of Chinese products with a total value of $325billion. China is now considering cancelling trade talks which were set to resume Wednesday in Washington D.C.. Updates will be issued as the situation evolves.
