Vancouver is one of five international ports that could soon surpass long-established shipping hubs in Europe, according to an about-to-be-published report by Deloitte, commissioned by the European Community Shipowners’ Association. A spokesperson for Vancouver International Maritime Centre, an agency funded by the federal and provincial governments, said Vancouver is now “in the big leagues”.
